Friday I did one of the stupidest things I probably have ever done and I am so glad that I did. I bought in to the hype, I fed my id, and I picked up one of the funnest toys known to man: the iPhone.
Now, speaking honestly, the coolest thing about the iPhone isn’t really what it can do but instead how it does it. Having a keyboard on a phone is nothing revolutionary. Having a keyboard without having any buttons on the phone, on the other hand is. Surfing the web on a phone is nothing revolutionary, doing it with a full blown browser is. Wrap up all of that into a device and throw in the wide screen and the zooming ability and you are left with one stunning little package.
I really hope they come out with iChat for the iPhone soon. With that in the mix I think we will be talking about one nifty and portable Internet appliance.
