Expecto Ripoffem!
OK, so seven months ago I posted that I’d be there the night the book was released. Guess what? I was. I, however, wasn’t one of these people that ripped off the book, scanned it, and posted it. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what establishment these thieves are fighting by doing this.
After having an entire weekend of things to do I finished the book on Monday and appreciated a much less bloated and cleaner story told by Ms. JK Rowling. This is one of the first Harry Potter books I have nearly no complaints about.
I laughed that she made an announcement on Monday that the next book “could be” two years away. 10 to 1 that the movie franchise is going to dictate this book needing to be finished. Goblet of Fire will be released this year, and Order of the Pheonix will be shot and released next year. Half Blood Prince will be shot and released in 2007, which means that they will need to have the final book done and ready for screenplay drafting in 2007 so they can crank that puppy out in 2008.
Only 24 more months kiddies… hang in there.
