Kotaku – EA Sports Active Sells Oodles, Getting Expansion Pack – E3.

So it turns out that my excitement over the EA Sports Active seems to be justified. They’ve sold over 600,000 copies of the game in just two weeks and an expansion pack is already in the works.

The part that I’m the most excited about is that EA Sports really is taking the fitness potential of this game seriously, so much so that the new expansion will have a brand new 6 Week Challenge to further expand on the current 30 day challenge. There will be more exercises, some tropical locales, and lots more!

I’d really love to also have them set it up to where you can do a two player networked game as well, so that way you could set up virtual workouts with friends that also have the game. It could just be like the two player version of the exercises but instead one person is anywhere and not in the same room as you. Just a free idea I’m putting out there EA Sports. You’re welcome.

Today was a day of rest and smart decisions. I hate to sound like I’m pulling a Jared but the fact that there is a Subway so close to the office and I can really pick a quick, easy and healthy alternative is nice. I often go down and pick up a foot long turkey breast on wheat, no cheese, little bit of lettuce, extra tomato and extra cucumber. Top it off with fat free Honey Dijon dressing and it is done.

I’ve also learned a very valuable lesson about food when it comes to this new eating approach. I’m no dummy, I know that I’m a food addict and I don’t eat food for fuel, I eat it for the experience. This whole silly sandwich thing has taught me to slow down and realize I don’t need to shovel as much down my gullet as I used to. I have half a sandwich for lunch and I save the other half later in the afternoon. The first day I did this I decided to chew slowly, drink a lot of water with the sandwich and sure enough in 30 minutes I found I was completely satisfied. I suppose if I slow down and think about what I’m really doing it can make all the difference in the world.

I can’t believe I’m already at day 7 tomorrow. This 30 day thing is going to fly by before I even realize it.
