Well slap my face and call me a noobie! I couldn’t have been more wrong about what happened yesterday.
I woke up only 30 minutes late today and staggered out to the family room. As I slipped on my trainers I fired up the Wii getting ready to brace myself for the resetting of my 30 day challenge. As I secured the leg strap and pressing the A button I grumbled even more lamenting my loss. As I finally looked at the TV and pressed A to confirm using my profile I was pleasantly shocked that things had NOT been in fact reset and I was still actually on Day 8! Wahoo!
I have to wonder if something isn’t still a little hinkey, however, since my on screen trainer told me it was Wii Balance Board day and I never actually used the Wii Balance Board. Minus this one item of confusion everything was as it should be.
Today was definitely a leg intense day as I once again found myself squatting, squat jumping, long hold squat jumping (inkine skating exercise), side lunges and running. I was also introduced to the Basketball game which involved some jumping as well. Yes, my heart was pumping from all that leg action.
I also have to make another comment about potential improvements to the game. I think the basketball game would be better balanced if you were alternating from side-to-side in grabbing for the basketballs that you shoot. It may be that later in the game, as the exercise gets more advanced, this happens but as of this moment I was just twisting to the left and extending my arms with no twisting to the right. I don’t recall any of the other exercises balancing this out either.
The tennis exercise also seems to do the same thing in only seeming to react to the Wii controller and not the Nunchuck so this would be a very right side intensive exercise with nothing to balance out and work the left side. I will definitely review these exercises carefully before tomorrow to make sure my perception is accurate. If I am not you will definitely see a retraction tomorrow.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a day of rest but I think I’m going to workout with the Active anyway because I’m really diggging this. Co-workers are already telling me I’m more energetic in the morning so something is definitely going right.
