I have a bit of advice to anyone that is using the EA Sports Active: If you decide to do some make-up exercising to cover what you may have thought were shortcomings, don’t make them exercises in the same muscle groups as the workout you are scheduled to do the next day! Last night I did a quick 10 minute make-up that focused on cardio and upper arms. What was today’s exercise? Mostly upper arms.
Once again another great workout. Today was another day that I also accompanied my wife in a “workout with a friend” which was a blast. The only negative side to us doing these together is that invariably my daughter ends up feeling left out. I wish there was a better way to get her engaged but when you are trying to make sure that you aren’t going to bump into, swing into or otherwise accidentally hurt someone they are going to end up feeling put off when you once again tell them where they might want to stand for it to be safer.
Another tip that I would offer up is that if you have either a floor fan or a fan that is on a stand use it doing your workout. Prior to these past two workouts I was relying on the ceiling fan. I don’t necessarily feel the ceiling fan, however, and it is also perilous to the knuckles when you are doing things like a shoulder press, dance move or any other exercise where you are reaching above your head. With the floor or stand based ceiling fan you have the benefit of always having the cool air blowing right at you. This helps to make you feel cooler and will keep you from getting discouraged from being over-heated during a workout. Some of the more expensive gyms will also take this approach as their cardio areas are heavily fanned and air-conditioned and you can bet that their floating floor studios where classes occur are like ice boxes. The floor or stand fan is a nice and inexpensive (both in initial cost and running cost) to stay cool during your workout.
I really need to kick it up a notch over the next few days since weigh-in day is Wednesday and I’m so close to completing this. Sure I’ve lost over 10 lbs. and that’s nothing to shy away from, however I want more. I don’t want Biggest Loser numbers, but it would be nice to have done 12 to 15 lbs. in 30 days.
