Every Thursday there is a little bit of simple magic that happens in my office. We seem to have a banana fairy.
Every Thursday like clockwork there is a bunch of bananas left on the microwave on our IT kitchen. I haven’t discovered who this banana benefactor is but each week they are there for the taking. I don’t know why someone keeps doing this but the mystery is kind of cool.
Part of me, naturally, is a little bit suspicious since it isn’t often something in life is given for free. What is this persons motivation? Are they doing this because they feel we need more potassium? Does this person have a banana buying compulsion that they can’t ignore so they unload their unneeded bananas on us? Are we all part of some secret social experiment that I can’t even begin to comprehend?
There is one thing that is pretty clear to me: I can’t believe our little coffee/kitchenette area has prompted so much thought for me in the past two days.
